Welcome to Scouting in Greater Victoria Area (GVA).
Our Volunteers provide programs that serve more than 2,000 youth and adult members in Sooke, the Westshore communities, the core municipalities and the Saanich peninsula. Beaver Scouts, Wolf Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturer Scouts, Rover Scouts and Scouting Leaders all enjoy the Fun and Challenge of the largest youth program in the world, right here in our own backyard.

2012 Victoria Day Parade - 21 May
We need to know if Groups or individuals are going to participate!!
If your group is considering attending the Victoria Day Parade (or you have any questions) please email Scouter Jim at events@victoriascouts.ca
Scouting in Greater Victoria will be joining the parade on Monday May 21, 2012. This is a great way to promote scouting in our community. The more people we have in the parade the greater the impact. It is also fun for everyone. So get your group ready to join us so we can have the largest turn out ever. Individuals (in uniform) or entire groups can join in. We are a walking group and we can pull things but we cannot have a motorized vehicle. Any ideas for enhancing the presence of Scouting would be welcome.
If your group is considering attending (or you have any questions) please email Scouter Jim at events@victoriascouts.ca If we know you are coming we can send you the location to meet (as it will be somewhere around Mayfair) when we receive the details.
Check out the Calendar Posting for details!

Venue needed for Chief Scout Awards
We are in need of an impressive venue for the Chief Scout Award presentations on June 16, 2012. The awards will be presented by the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia on Saturday June 16. We need access to an appropriate facility from 1 to 4 pm. We can use Scout House, however if a more impressive facility (no disrespect intended) can be found all the better. The Church and Legion where it has been held in the past are not available. We, of course, cannot really afford anything more than perhaps a small donation for the use of a hall.
If you are aware of a facility which we can use that would be appropriate for the presentation of the awards, please contact James A. S. Legh at csa@victoriascouts.ca or call me at 250-658-0220.
Also: If you have Scouts who will be eligible for their award, please get their applications into the Area Commissioner as soon as possible.
